Using either Save As or the Export function in Right PDF Editor, you are able to export the currently open PDF document to Text, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other image formats. Additionally, you can also choose to run OCR (Optical Character Recognition) before exporting PDF files, so that the contents of output files become searchable and editable.


Export using Save As command

  1. Open a PDF file and choose File > Save As. Under Computer, select a folder to save the output files. Or, click Browse and select another folder.

  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a file format from the Save as type drop-down menu.

  3. Click Settings to change format-specific conversion settings and then click OK to apply the settings.

  4. Click Save to export the PDF file to the selected file format.


Export using Export functionality

  1. Open a PDF file and select Advanced > Export or File > Export.

  2. Select the file format and version for the output file.

    • Export to MS Office. You can choose to export PDF to Word(*.doc or *.docx), Excel Word (*.xls or *.xlsx), PowerPoint (*.pptx), or OpenDocument(*.odt).

    • Export to Image. Select to export the PDF file to one of the four image formats. Each page of the PDF document will be saved as a separate file.

    • Export to Text. Select to export the PDF file to text in either Simple (*.txt) or Unicode (*.txt) encoding.

  1. If you selected File > Export, please configure the conversion settings and then click the Save as In the Save As dialog box, select a location where you want to save the file, edit conversion settings and decide whether to export all pages or set a range of pages. Click Save. By default, the source filename is used with the new extension and the exported file is saved in the same folder as the source file. Export selection to other formats

If you only need to export a part of the document to other formats, do as follows:

  1. Open a PDF file.

  2. Choose Basic > Select Area. Click and drag to select the area to export.

  3. Release the mouse and in the popup dialog box, choose Export Selection As.

  4. In the Save as dialog box, type a name and select a file format.

  5. Click Save.


Export images from PDF

Besides exporting every page to an image format, you can also extract images from a PDF document and save them as separate image files.

  1. Open a PDF file that contains images and do either of the following:

    • Choose Advanced > Export> Export All Images.

    • Using the Select tool, hover the cursor over an image and the cross-hair cursor  Click on the image and on the toolbar that pops up, select Save all image(s) to file(s)…. Or right-click on it, and select Save All Image As….

    • To export a part of an image, using the Select tool, hover the cursor over the image and the cross-hair icon  Drag an area, right-click on it, and select Save Image As… from the options.

  1. In the Save As dialog box, select an image type and a location to save the file.

  2. Click Save.
