You can search through all PDF documents within the PDF Portfolio, Selected Portfolio Documents, or the current document for specific words, phrases, or patterns such as phone numbers.

By default, the Search window displays basic search options that can help you narrow down results.


To search all PDF documents within a PDF Portfolio

You can search for specific words, phrases, or patterns in the entire PDF Portfolio.

  1. Open the PDF Portfolio and on the PDF Portfolio Quick Access Toolbar, click Search .

  2. In the Search dialog box, select Entire PDF Portfolio from the Look In drop-down menu.

  3. Specify what to search for, and set the search options and additional criteria.

  4. Click Search.


To search selected documents within a PDF Portfolio

You can search for specific words or phrases in the selected PDF documents.

  1. Select the PDF files to be searched. You can hold down Ctrl to select multiple files.

  2. On the PDF Portfolio Quick Access Toolbar, click Search .

  3. Select Selected Portfolio Documents from the Look In drop-down menu.

  4. Specify what to search for, and set the search options and additional criteria.

  5. Click Search.


To search the current document

It searches through the document you are currently viewing instead of the entire PDF Portfolio.

  1. In the current document, on the PDF Portfolio Quick Access Toolbar, click Search .

  2. Select Current Document from the Look In drop-down menu.

  3. Specify what to search for, and set the search options and additional criteria.

  4. Click Search.

Notes: searches do not apply to non-PDF files inside PDF Portfolios.
