Insert Table of Contents (TOC)
Create TOC
In Write mode, format your document using styles, such as Heading 1, Heading 2, and Heading 3, and Right PDF will automatically pick up these styles and add them to your table of contents. Once your document is formatted, follow the steps to create TOC:
-
In Write mode, click the place you want to insert TOC, and choose Insert > Table of Contents
> Insert Table of Contents… to open the Table of Contents dialog box.
-
Under Print Preview, decide whether to show page numbers, whether to right align page numbers, and whether to use hyperlinks instead of page numbers. You may also change Tab leader.
-
Under General, decide how many levels will be shown in TOC.
-
(Optional) You can click Options… to define the level for each heading style.
-
Click OK.
Update TOC
After TOC is created, if there’s any changes in the document, you can do the following to update the TOC:
-
Choose Insert > Update
-
In the Update Table of Contents dialog box, select one of the following:
-
-
Update page numbers only. This only updates the pages that the headings are on, and ignores changes made to the heading text.
-
Update entire table. This will reflect any updates to the heading text, as well as any page changes.
-
Click OK.
Note: you can also right-click TOC and select Update Field to update it.
Delete TOC
Do either of the following to delete TOC:
-
Choose Insert > Table of Contents > Remove Table of Contents
-
Drag and select entire TOC, right-click on it, and select Delete.
