You can view and change the properties of the document in Document Properties, such as security settings, initial view, and description. Note that Reader doesn’t allow you to make any changes to these document properties settings.


Set document properties and preferences via the shortcuts (A) located in the top-right corner of the Document pane.


Description

  • This area shows the basic information about the current document: title, author, subject, base URL, keywords, and the time the document is created and modified. Click Additional Metadata… to view more metadata such as document titles, author, descriptions, keywords, and copyright information.

  • This area shows the application that produces the document, the PDF version, the page and file size, location, number of pages, whether the document has been tagged, and if the document is enabled for Fast Web View.

  • The information in the Advanced area is generated automatically and cannot be modified unless Inspect Document is used to permanently remove Metadata and Embedded non-display data. Within Inspect Document, select Metadata to remove the entire Description area and information of PDF Producer from document properties.


Security

  • It displays the security method that has been applied to the document. If it displays No Security, that means the document is currently without any protection. There is also a summary of permitted actions below for your reference.


Initial view

  • It demonstrates how the PDF document is presented when it is opened.

  • The Initial view determines the initial window size, the zoom level, the starting page number, and whether menu bar, toolbars and window controls are displayed.


Custom

It displays existing property categories of the document.


Fonts

It lists the fonts and font types used in this document.


Advanced

  • Reading Options shows reading direction and language used in this document.

  • Print Dialog Presets displays the print dialog preset information for the document.
