The Journey of Right PDF

Founded in 1989, ZEON has been in the PDF business for more than 30 years. In the very beginning, we developed electronic publishing and printing solutions, and switched to PDF (Portable Document Format) technology in 1993.

There it began the evolution of our robust PDF software adopted by businesses and document professionals around the world. While the journey goes ever onward, we hope you’ll join hands with us and create more possibilities down the road.

Expanded to macOS, and AI!
After a long wait, Right PDF proudly welcomed macOS to the family this year, completing our product lineup. With the addition of the new AI Assistant, working with PDFs has never felt more cutting-edge.

Right PDF:Make It Right

With the release of version 6, we introduced our new brand name, "Right PDF", replacing Gaaiho entirely. From this point forward, all PDF products are unified under one banner, with our commitment to service and quality remaining unchanged.

Gaaiho 4.0 Product Launch
On May 25, business representatives and reporters gathered at the 5-star Westin Taipei for the official launch of Gaaiho 4.0. This marked ZEON's first-ever product launch event and a significant step forward in building Gaaiho’s brand recognition.

ZEON proudly released version 4.0 for Suite, Driver, and TSL. In addition to the new Excel editing feature, these versions are equipped with cutting-edge OCR technology—a perfect pairing of PDF and OCR.

Hailed as a milestone release, Gaaiho PDF 3.0 debuted at Computex Taipei, setting a new standard for all-in-one PDF software.

Into the Mobile World
Gaaiho expanded to mobile with the release of Gaaiho PDF apps on both the App Store and Google Play. With this launch, Gaaiho PDF solutions became available across PC, server, and mobile platforms.

New Home
We relocated from our old office near a noisy airport to a new, more convenient location surrounded by a department store, a Carrefour, and an MRT station—much to the delight of everyone. Around the same time, we also launched Gaaiho PDF 2.0.

The Era of Gaaiho PDF
Fifteen years after launching the first generation of DocuCom, the Gaaiho era officially began. This marked the introduction of the revolutionary concept of “full-scale PDF editing” to the world.

Birth of Gaaiho
ZEON expanded its R&D capabilities and initiated the development of business collaboration software, initially codenamed M1 and later officially named "Gaaiho."

The Dynamic Duo
ZEON launched DocuCom PDF Gold, combining a converter and an editor in a unique package—a format that would set the standard for future generations. The software was made available in multiple languages, including English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese.

1997

First in the Business
We led the market by launching DocuCom 2.0, the first Asian PDF solution, in Japan. It was also the first PDF software to support diverse language applications for creating and displaying PDF documents in the Windows environment.

World is the Stage
This marked the beginning of ZEON's PDF business with DocuCom 1.0, the first PDF software to support DBCS Asian characters on Windows. We traveled to San Francisco to showcase the software at the Seybold Seminars, the leading trade show for the desktop publishing and pre-press industry at the time.

The PDF Pioneer
ZEON established its R&D center, positioning itself as a pioneer in PDF technology research in the Asia-Pacific region. (PDF Insider: This was also the year the first PDF specifications were made public)
